Funeral services for Rev. Thomas Earl Miller, age 81, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 2, 2021, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. David Miller officiating. Burial to follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens.
Rev. Miller was born November 15, 1939, in Johnson County. He was a United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam era. During his military service he received the Good Conduct Medal, Expert Marksman, and the Good Citizenship Medal. He was assigned to the 1st Signal Group U.S. Army Communications Zone in Europe. After his military achievements he received his Certificate of Ordination into the ministry and pastored several Baptist churches in Laurens County to include Oakdale Baptist, Oconee Baptist, Montrose Baptist, Antioch Baptist, and Clearview Baptist Church. He was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Elmer Miller and Ruby Lois Riner Miller of Adrian. Rev. Miller passed away Monday, August 30, 2021, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Claudine Miller of East Dublin, two sons, Thomas (Tara) Miller of Grovetown and Daniel (Courtney) Miller of Dublin, a daughter, Amanda Miller, brothers, David Miller and Loy Miller, sisters, Ruth White, Wrena Morris, and Lynn Warren, 4 grandchildren, Hayden Miller, Lauren Miller, Robbie Miller and Ember Miller.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Roberson, Danton Morris, Keith Fitts, Tyler Lumley, John Miller, Keith Connor, and Kenneth Connor. Honorary pallbearers will be Stuart Harrell, Danny Howard, Derek Brown, Larry Woodard, and Bruce Cauley.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. to 1:45 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. All are encouraged to wear a mask and practice social distancing while in attendance.
