Robert Edge Thompson

The family of Robert Edge "Tommy" Thompson, aged 60, invite all to a memorial service in his honor on Saturday, December 3rd, at 11:00 AM. The service will be held in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory.

Tommy was a lifelong resident of Dublin, Ga., the son of Young Hiram "Buddy" Thompson, Jr., and Frances Slaughter "Dinah" Adkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Tammy Thompson Dehoney. He is survived by his daughter, Ashley K. Thompson. He is also survived by his five brothers, Young Hiram "Ty" Thompson, III, Taylor Ashton Thompson, Scott Patrick Thompson, Jeffrey Todd Thompson, and Stephen Lamar Adkins, and his four sisters, Sarah Tracy Thompson Johnson, Felicia Thompson Aaron, Tara Thompson Turner, and Tiffany Thompson Baggett. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Tommy was known for his devotion to Ashley and her care. He created for her a joyful life filled with love, while staying true to his other loves: animals, sports, and especially music. He played guitar and sang, publishing via YouTube his own songs as well as many stirring covers of songs that he loved. His family, friends, and followers will continue to cherish these songs as poignant reminders of his talent.
