Robert Charles Webb

Graveside funeral services for Robert Charles Webb, age 76, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Revs. Hugh Spivey and Thomas Wicker will officiate. There will not be a formal visitation, but Mr. Webb will lie in state from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory if anyone would like to stop by and pay their respect.

Mr. Webb was born November 24, 1946, in Macon, Georgia. He was the son of the late Charles "C.W." William and Warrennella Spence Webb. He attended Lanier High School in Macon, Georgia and was a running back on the football team there. After moving to Dublin mid-senior year, Mr. Webb was a member of the Dublin High School track team, holding the 1966 school records for the 100-yard dash and the 200-yard dash. He went on to graduate from Dublin High School in 1966.

He served in the United States Navy, where he served two tours from 1966 -1968 Active Duty on the US Aircraft Carrier USS Forrestal. He was released from Active Duty and transferred to the Naval Reserve. He received many awards in the insurance field and retired as a Licensed Insurance Agent from the Robert Webb Insurance Agency.

Mr. Webb passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital. Mr. Webb is survived by his wife, Kay Herrington Webb of Dublin; 2 sons, Shane Webb of Warner Robins and Brandon Webb of Adrian; 3 siblings, Betty Ann (Billy) Mixon of Lawrenceville, twin sister Becky Reeves of Peachtree City, and Kenny (Donna) Webb of Leesburg; 7 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Of the Methodist faith, Mr. Webb enjoyed Southern gospel music, league bowling, golf, and watching Gunsmoke, Rawhide, and Cheyenne.
