A memorial services for Mrs. Robin Carey Roberts, age 54, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Tim Tharp officiating.
Mrs. Roberts was born March 3, 1961 in Laurens County, Georgia but was a lifelong resident of Johnson County. She was a 1979 graduate of Johnson County High School and graduated as an Emergency Medical Technician from Swainsboro Technical College. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene and was editor of The Wrightsville Headlight. Her love for her community was apparent. She spent countless hours volunteering at the Johnson County Recreation Department, whether it be umpiring, fundraising or managing the concession stand; Robin was there. She was a member of the Wrightsville Rotary Club and served as president of the Johnson County Band Boosters. She was also actively involved in the Johnson County Heart Walk. As editor of The Wrightsville Headlight, she loved covering the many sporting events and taking pictures. But she always showed the most love for her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Roberts passed away Friday, February 5, 2016.
She is survived by her children, Kale Roberts of Savannah, Magen (Wade Douglas) Roberts of Wrightsville, Monica (Josh Walker) Roberts of East Dublin and Camron (Kevin) Drew of Kite, her father, David (Betty) Carey of Harrison, her mother Anne (Jerry) Kaplan of Wrightsville, a brother, David (Teresa) Carey, Jr. of Wrightsville, two sisters, Susan (Clifford) Claxton of Wrightsville and Dianna (David) Peters of Tybee Island, five grandchildren: Kara Drew, Kynlee Drew, Cadah Drew, C.J. Garrett and River Walker, two nieces Sarah Peters and Michelle Johnson, two nephews Steven Johnson and Chazz Carey and her close friend, Donnie Douglas.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene.
