Funeral services for Rodney Chris Shannon, age 50 will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Poplar Springs South Baptist Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Alvin Lewis and Rev. Nolon McDaniel will officiate. Mr. Shannon was born December 9, 1969 in Dublin, Georgia. He was a member of Poplar Springs South Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was employed in sales with Macon Commercial Tire. He was the owner of Rodney Shannon Trucking. He was a avid hunter, fisherman, and camper. Mr. Shannon passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Fairview Park Hospital. Mr. Shannon is survived by his wife, Beth Shannon of Dublin, a daughter, Megan Shannon (James Johnson) of Dublin, his parents, Harold and Phyllis Shannon of Dublin, and 2 sisters, Rhonda Davidson of Dublin and Cherrie Blackburn of Dublin. Pallbearers will be Bo Davidson, Riley Davidson, Robby Rowe, Mac Leskosky, Blake Garrett, Rob Rowe, Mark Davidson, and Joel Blackburn. Honorary Pallbearers will be all Present/Past Drivers of Rodney Shannon Trucking. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
