Roger Dale Wilkerson

Funeral service for Roger Dale Wilkerson, age 65, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 23, 2021 at Wrightsville Church of the Nazarene, 155 Lakeview Dr, Wrightsville, Ga., with Pastor Stephen Robinson, and Mr. Thurmon Foskey officiating with burial to follow in Westview Cemetery. Mr. Wilkerson was born on February 3, 1956 in Swainsboro, Georgia. He attended Wrightsville Church of the Nazarene. Roger was a loving husband, daddy, and pa. He was always there to help others in need, always with a smile and a joke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Wilkson and Carrie Mae Newsome, and brother, Jerry Wilkerson. Roger passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Emory University Hospital. Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his wife of 44 years, Brenda Wilkerson, daughter, Vickie Thompson, sons, Alan Wilkerson (Tiffany) and Kevin Wilkerson, brothers, Bobby Ray Wilkerson (Wanda), Richard Edward Wilkerson (Kathy), and Sammie Newsome (Sheena), stepmother, Annette Wilkerson, mother-in-law, Joyce Dixon, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Greg Rowland, Paul Sterling, Joseph Sumner, Scott Lindsey, Paul Mullis, and Marshall Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Barber, Ron Moses, M.C. Carey, Jerry "Scoop" Outlaw, John Hightower, Larry Elbert, Eugene Hall, and Weldon Thomas. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
