Roy Ezra Lyles

Funeral services for Roy Ezra Lyles, age 78, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 5, 2024, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel with Rev. Stephen Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Holiness Church Cemetery.

Mr. Lyles was born on December 26, 1945, in Soperton, Georgia to the late Ezra and Josie Lyles. He was a lifelong resident of Wrightsville and was a member of the Wrightsville Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of the United States Air Force and retired after 41 years from BASF. He enjoyed coaching little league, serving in the church and visiting with people who were shut in. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Hilton Lyles, Tillman Lyles, Ernestine Johnson, and Bernice Smith. Mr. Lyles passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Lyles is survived by his wife, Shirley Logue Lyles of Wrightsville; 3 daughters, Angie (Carl) Claxton of Wrightsville, Lynn (Doug) Josey of Kite, and Valerie (Jeremy) Hart of Dublin, son, Jason (Nicole) Lyles of Dublin, brother, Troy (Jackie) Lyles of Wrightsville, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and another great grandson on the way.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Dalton Foskey, Chris Dickens, Craig Dickens, Jeff Wilkes, Jay Bryan and Adam Logue.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
