Roy "Steve" Stephen Simmons

Funeral services for Roy "Steve" Stephen Simmons, age 61 will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Union Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mike Mertz and Mr. Eric Haskins will officiate. Mr. Simmons was born on September 29, 1953 in Dublin, Georgia. He was the son of the late Eunice Francis and Adell Ussery Simmons. He was a Probation Officer for Middle Georgia Probation. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. Mr. Simmons passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon. Mr. Simmons is survived by his 2 cousins, Debbie Fullard and Deryl Evans, a special friend, Barbara Taylor Knight, and a host of many friends. Pallbearers will be Russell Sheppard, Jimmy Rogers, Stan Sheppard, Kevin Goodwin, Butch Rogers, and Kevin Tanner. Honorary Pallbearers will be past and present members of the Laurens County Sheriff's Department, Dubose Porter, Pierce Bedingfield, Bobby Couey, Thurston Branch, James Warnock, Randall Warnock, Jack Warnock, Gene Branch, Shawn Scarbrough, Kelvin Cauley, Bill Luecke, Wayne Leach, Hugh Sears, Jerry Dunlap, Tommy Bobbitt and Herbert Kyler. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Union Baptist Church.
