Rubye Cannon Russell

Funeral services for Mrs. Rubye Cannon Russell, age 96 will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Grady Mimbs and Rev. Wayne McDaniels will officiate. Mrs. Russell was born on January 21, 1918 in Dublin, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Joel M. and Nora Joiner Cannon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Obrene Lamar Russell, and by a son Phillip Lamar Russell, a brother, Albert Cannon, and Marvin Cannon, and a sister, Lilly Cannon Smith. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She was retired as a seamstress for Dublin Garment. Mrs. Russell passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Serenity Place. Mrs. Russell is survived by her son, Donald Reginald (Lou Ann) Russell of Cadwell, a daughter, Ruby Claire Russell Mallory, 6 grandchildren, Tammie Russell, Michael P. Russell, Jeffery C. Russell, Sherry M. Cordy, Christopher G. Mallory, and J. Michelle Tevez, and 2 step-grandchildren, Wendy Fordham, and Clay Lord. Pallbearers will be Dan Childers, Johnny McGowan, Tennyson Cox, Rusty Fordham, Marshall Floyd, and Bill Harrell. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
