Ruth Rountree Evans

Funeral services for Ruth Rountree Evans, age 90 will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 13, 2018 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Rentz City Cemetery. Mr. Thurmon Foskey will officiate. Mrs. Evans was born June 1, 1927 in Rentz, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Marvin and Berta Chambers Rountree. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tennyson Hugh Evans. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a devoted wife, sibling, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Evans passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at 4:15pm after a brave and valet battle with Alzheimer's. Mrs. Evans is survived by her children, Jerry H.Evans (Nan) of Zuni, VA, Brenda L. Evans Jarvis (Raymond) of Carthage, NC and Gary L. Evans (Patricia) of Virginia Beach, VA. Numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will forever be our "Cowboy Sweetheart". Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
