Ruth D. Taylor

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth D. Taylor, age 89 will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Kyle Giddens and Mr. Dan Hughes will officiate. Mrs. Taylor was born on January 5, 1927 in Dudley, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late John Daniel and Lois Lanelle Mathis Durham. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Morris Taylor, and her son, Albert Paul "Sonny" Taylor. She was a lifelong residence of Laurens County. She was a retired Assistant Administrator for Laurens County Health Department. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Taylor passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughter, Marcia T. Hughes of Dexter, 4 grandchildren, Dan Hughes, Jason Taylor, Shannon Rowland, and Clay Taylor, and 11 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Anthony Rowland, Clay Taylor, Jason Taylor, Tim Kennedy, Reginald Mack, and Taylor Pope. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel have charge of funeral arrangements.
