Sally Anne Jerles passed away on May 13, 2021 in her home after a lengthy illness.
Sally was born on August 11, 1956 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Joseph Fred Jerles and Louise Randall Jerles. She was the youngest of three children. She graduated from Adrian High School and studied at Brewton Parker College, Georgia Southern and the University of Georgia. She worked as a Correctional Officer at the Reidsville State Prison and later became the first female firefighter in the City of Dublin. She then began her lifelong career of 32 years and partnership with The Paint Ladies Plus.
Sally leaves behind two brothers, Dr. Joe Jerles (Judi) of Clarksville, TN and James Randall Jerles (Lauren) of Robertsdale, AL and a niece Alisha Jerles Horn (Jason) of Clarksville, TN and loving cousins. She also leaves behind an extended family that loved her dearly to include a long-time and devoted friend and multi-decade business partner Betty Spivey Shradar, Betty's children Cami Shradar Stokes (Brian) and Donald Robert Shradar, Jr. (Jessica Enciso), and Cami's children Evan and Camryn Stokes. She also leaves behind her sweet and loving pet Jake.
Sally loved animals, fishing and football. She was always looking for ways to help others and was famous for her pecan pies.
A memorial service will be held at the burial site – Lyons City Cemetery – 271 North Jefferson Street, Lyons, GA 30436 on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 11:00 am.
Memorial donations can be made to the Dublin-Laurens Humane Society in honor of Sally's love for animals and/or Dublin's Integrity Hospice for the excellent love and care she received over the past several months.
