Mr. Samuel "Sammy" Herbert Jackson, Jr., age 64, passed away peacefully at his home, Friday, May 13, 2016. Mr. Jackson was born July 7, 1951 in Dublin, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Samuel Herbert Jackson, Sr. and Louise Moye Jackson. He was a member of the First Christian Church and was a farmer. For a number of years he owned and operated Jackson Farms. Mr. Jackson was a master craftsman transforming old heart pine into beautiful period pieces for generations to come. In addition to his love for woodworking, he also was a master gardener. He loved all kinds of plants and enjoyed seeing them grow. Above all else, he was a beloved husband, proud father and adoring grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie G. Jackson of Wrightsville, three sons, Ben (Amy) Jackson of Wrightsville, Chan (Amy) Jackson of Dublin and Brian (Kaylin) Jackson of Wrightsville, a brother, Bill Jackson of Macon, two sisters, Olivia Stevens of Dublin and Judy Wommack of Brunswick, a first cousin, Linda S. Jackson of Wrightsville and seven, grandchildren, Morgan Jackson, Abigail Jackson, Sam Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, Ali Jackson, Alijah Jackson and Brintley Jackson. Funeral services for Mr. Jackson will be private but the family may be contacted at their residence, 775 Donovan Road, Wrightsville, Georgia. Pallbearers will be Joe Norris, Richard Godbee, Ray Roberson, John Roberson, Matt Walden and Sammy Young Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
