Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Arrington Manley, 81, of Dublin, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 30, 2018 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Pine Hill United Methodist Church. Rev. Tommy Veal and Rev. Sylvia Kersey will officiate.
A native of Tift County, Mrs. Manley was the daughter of the late Jesse Russell Arrington and the late Helen McBrayer Arrington of Tifton. She attended Tift County schools, where she met her future husband, Earl, in fifth grade. She was a homemaker and a retired longtime employee of the Laurens County Tax Commissioner's Office. Mrs. Manley loved to follow her children and grandchildren around to watch their ballgames and other activities, and to travel with her husband in their RV. She was a member of Pine Hill United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven Earl Manley of Dublin; and three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William Earl Manley of Dublin; a daughter, Tammie (Gordon) Cartee of Madison; three sons, Rodney (Holly) Manley of East Dublin, Russell (Melissa) Manley of Augusta, and Gregory (Kellie) Manley of Dexter; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Manley of Dublin; 17 grandchildren, Gordon Cartee III, Eric Cartee, Cameron Cartee and Evan Cartee, all of Madison, Shannon Manley, Chris Channell, Casey Loftin and Stacey Loftin, all of Dublin, Matthew Manley of Rome, Ga., Mackenzie Manley, Parker Manley, Jake Brantley, Ben Brantley and Matt Brantley, all of East Dublin, Josh Manley, Chase Manley and Lauren Manley, all of Augusta, and Landon Manley and Morgan Manley, both of Dexter; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the funeral home.
