Sara Bray Mcafee

Funeral services for Sara Bray McAfee, age 94, will be held Monday, April 17, 2017, at 3:00 P.M. at Tucker's Grove Holiness Church with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Smith, Elder Kenneth Brantley, and Rev. Matt Reese will officiate. Mrs. McAfee was born on December 16, 1922, in Wrightsville, Georgia. The daughter of the late John Covington and Clara Dell Dent Bray, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James L. McAfee, Sr.; and a daughter, Sara Faye McAfee Innecken. She was the co-owner of McAfee Packing Company and a member of Tucker's Grove Holiness Church. Mrs. McAfee passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Washington County Extended Care Facility. Mrs. McAfee is survived by her sons, James L. (Virginia) McAfee, Jr., of Wrightsville; and John Ashley (Glenda) McAfee of Wrightsville; a daughter, Judith (Nick) Holton of Wrightsville; granddaughters, Deborah Murrell, Donna Brooks, and Ashlyn Williamson; and her grandsons John Ashley McAfee, Jr.; Nicholas Holton, Jr.; and John Eric Holton, Jonathan Everett McAfee, James L. McAfee III; and Benjamin Alex McAfee; 16 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Mrs. McAfee's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Pallbearers will be John Ashley McAfee, Jr.; James Nicholas Holton, Jr.; John Eric Holton, Jonathan Everett McAfee, James L. McAfee III; and Benjamin Alex McAfee. Honorary pallbearers will be Donny Carter, Gene Brantley, George Phillips, Otis Wiggins, Chris Harvey, Wain Sweat, Ed Price, Baker Oliver, Lamar Price, Pam Stone, Mae Taylor, Karen Daniels, and Dr. Jean Sumner. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. on Monday, April 17, 2017, at Tucker's Grove Holiness Church. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
