Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Logue Price, age 72, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Oaky Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow at Westview Cemetery. Dr. Tom Akins, Rev. Grady Mimbs and Rev. Harry Hadden will officiate.
Mrs. Price was born August 6, 1946 in Dublin, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her parents, the late Acie William "Jake" Logue and Willie Pearl Scott Logue, a daughter, Stephanie Price and two brothers-in-law, Edward Price and Freddie Kyzer. She worked as a 4-H assistant with Johnson County and was very active in all the activities up until her retirement in 1990. She was a charter member and Past-President of the Wrightsville Pilot Club and was involved with Women's Missions and Carpenter's for Christ for many years. She was also an active member of Oaky Grove Baptist Church and was a constant contributor to the church's music ministry. In June of 1965, she married James Edsel Price and together they had a daughter, Marci, who Sarah devoted herself to raising until Marci started school. Mrs. Price passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Edsel Price, a daughter, Marci Price (Greg) Smith all of Wrightsville, a brother, Billy (Jeanne) Logue of Dublin, four sisters, Sibbie (Woody) Bryan of Dexter, Shirley (Roy) Lyles of Wrightsville, Martha (J.C.) Wilkes of Milledgeville and Mary Ann (Gary) Dickens of Soperton, four grandsons, Jake (Kailey) Fordham, Noah Fordham, Brett Smith and Chase Smith, four sisters-in-law, Carolyn Kyzer, Evelyn (Franklin) Crabb, Shirley (James) Joiner and Dorothy (Truitt) Price and numerous nieces nephews and countless friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday, March 15, 2019 at the funeral home.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers and the members of the Wrightsville Pilot Club will serve as honorary escorts.
