Schuyler Eustace Reynolds, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Versa Elise Kennedy Reynolds and Schuyler Eustace Reynolds, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Price Reynolds, and their beloved daughter, Luci Reilly David, son-in-law, Jemel Naif David, III and grandson Eli David.
Schuyler graduated from Millen High School in 1962. He graduated from Georgia Southern University with a B.S. in Mathematics in 1966. He continued at GSU to receive an M.Ed. in Guidance Counseling in 1968 and to earn an Ed.S. in Counseling in 1972.
Schuyler taught mathematics at Screven County High School From 1968 till 1970. He served as high school guidance counselor at Glenville High School from 1970 through 1977.
He was the Johnson County High School Guidance Counselor from 1977 until 2001. Through those years, Schuyler was an advocate for all students and teachers. He cared deeply about every student and teacher who passed through the school.
After retirement, Schuyler enjoyed his Wrightsville Rotary Club membership. He continued to help students by tutoring math. He enjoyed planting and growing flowers that he shared with others.
The funeral service will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 14. The Reverend Dr. Hayward Cordy and The Reverend Chad Waller will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jeanette Caneega, Willie Green, Gary Price, Jemel N. David, Wesley Price and Donnie Sweat. Ron Bray will deliver the eulogy. Music will presented by Virginia Thurston McAfee with a solo by The Reverend Chad Waller. The service will be livestreamed at https://my.gather.app/remember/schuyler-reynolds-jr
Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will greet guests in the church social hall immediately following the burial.
