Funeral services for Mr. Stanley Ray Bennett, age 62, will be held 11:00 A.M., Sunday, August 9, 2020 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bennett was born on April 4, 1958 in Milledgeville, Georgia. He was the son of the late James Horace and Sue McElreath Bennett. He moved to Dublin from Gainesville thirty years ago. Stanley was a retired wildlife officer and was named the 2007 National Wildlife Professional of the Year. He was a renowned pianist for numerous gospel groups, including record recording group "Redeemer's Trio". His piano playing was a God given gift and he used it over the years to minister and bless lots of people. There will never be anyone as brilliant at playing the piano as he was. His music will be greatly missed. Mr. Bennett passed away at his home Friday, August 7, 2020.
Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife Lisa Bennett of Dublin, a son Stan ( Cheyenne) Bennett of Milledgeville, daughters April (Smith) Jones of Valley, AL, and Mandee (Matthew) Wohlrabe of Dublin, brothers Kenneth Bennett of Gainesville and Larry Bennett of Covington, sister Patricia Dillard of Cornelia, and 7 grandchildren, Emma Rae, Jenna Kate, Teigan, Rylee, Raylan, Preslee, and Brantley.
The family to receive friends Sunday from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at the funeral home.
Social Distancing guidelines will be in effect, and seating capacity will be limited as we are following the guidelines of the local health district and the CDC.
