Sylvester "Shep" Shepard

Graveside funeral services for Sylvester "Shep" Shepard, age 78 will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Don Hicks and Rev. Myron Wise will officiate.

Mr. Shepard was born January 1, 1945, in Laurens County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Almonde Wade and Margaret Lord Shepard. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Juliaette Mathis Shepard. He retired as a Sergeant with the Army National Guard  after 20 years. He was also retired from Dublin Construction Company after 42 years. He worked for the last two years with the Laurens County Recycling and Collection Center where he enjoyed meeting and talking to people. He was a member of the Dublin First Church of the Nazarene where he was a member of the Terry Soles Sunday School Class. Mr. Shepard passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital.

Mr. Shep is survived by his daughter, Michele Shepard of Wrightsville, and 2 sisters, Dolly Snyder of East Dublin, and Claudette Dean of Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Clay Mathis, Ricky Mathis, Frankie Mathis, Bradley Mathis, Gerad Mathis, and Stacey Mathis.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. at Dublin Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Shepard to Dublin First Church of the Nazarene Children/ Teen Department at 312 Telfair Street, Dublin, GA 31021.
