Sylvia J. Price Carter

Funeral services for Sylvia J. Price Carter, age 87 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Mr. Ralph Veal and Rev. Chris Mitchell will officiate. Mrs. Carter was born April 28, 1934, in Wrightsville Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Pearlie G. and Nettie Miller Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Hilton Edward Price Sr. and George Dayton Carter, and by her grandson, Jeffrey Dustin Graham. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She worked for J.P. Stevens formally Forstmann for many years before her retirement. Mrs. Carter passed away Monday, May 31, 2021, at her residence surrounded by family. Mrs. Carter is survived by her son, Hilton Edward "Edd" (Lynn) Price, Jr. of Braselton, 3 daughters, Marilyn P. Webb of St. Simons Island, Kay P. (Ray) Outlaw of Wrightsville, and Carole P. (Jeff) Tarpley of Ellenwood, a sister, Nell J. Walden of Warner Robins, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chris Harvey, Barry Joiner, Allen McMichael, David Hall, Matt Price, and Mitch Price. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bessie Fann, and Donna Davis. The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
