Thomas Maurice Odom, Jr.

It is with profound respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Maurice Odom, Jr., who was born on April 28, 1940, in Plains, Georgia, and passed away on May 15, 2026, at his residence in Wrightsville, Georgia.

Mr. Odom was an architectural engineer with the Macon Housing Authority, where he served diligently for 25 years. His commitment extended beyond his professional work; Thomas was a lifelong member of the Methodist faith and proudly belonged to the First Methodist Church for an impressive 43 years. He served many years as the chairman of the building committee for First Methodist. His voice enriched the church community not only as a choir member but also as a soloist, uplifting and inspiring congregants with his musical talents.

He was an Eagle Scout, served as President of the Georgia Jaycees, as he was a member in Perry, Georgia, and sat on the council for the Boy Scouts of America.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas M. Odom, Sr. and Julia Deese Odom; and his brother, Steve Odom.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Mixon Odom, who he was married to for 64 years.

Daughter Allison Odom Wells and her husband Roddy, son Thomas M. Odom, III (Todd) and his wife Angie.

He also leaves behind cherished sisters Barbara Odom Bartlett and Carol Odom Poole.

His legacy continues through eight grandchildren: Lacey Odom Castiglione (Chris), Lauren Odom, Thomas M. Odom, IV (Kailey), Austin Newsome, Kyle Wells (Kristen), Meghan Wells Gilder (Cody), Cale Pitts, and Megan Parsons.

Thomas was also a proud great-grandfather to Christopher Paul Castiglione, Jr., Dominic Josephus Castiglione, Parker Franklin Odom, Brielle Wells, Brinlee Wells, Nadia Brielle McKinley, and Raimi Storm Perkins.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of the funeral arrangements.
