Thomas J. "Pete" Stevens

Funeral services for Thomas J. "Pete" Stevens, age 78 will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Reedy Springs Cemetery. Rev. Tom Vann and Mr. Wayne Ellis will officiate. Mr. Stevens was born on January 25, 1939 in Cadwell, Georgia. He was the son of the late William Louis and Trellie Maud Howell Stevens. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Ruby Stevens, Offel Stevens, Tennyson Stevens, Clayton Stevens, Mary Brady, Grace Mullis, Nelline Gay, Katherine Rowland, and Georgia Swymer. He was an avid fisherman, gardner, hunter, and was very skilled with his hands. He was a retired engineer for Georgia Power. He served in the United States Air Force. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Stevens passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Stevens of Cadwell, a brother, Louis Stevens of Milledgeville, a sister, Bonnie Faye Stuckey of Green Cove Springs, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ricky Alligood, Jimmy Stevens, Billy Latson, Danny Bracewell, Royce Whittle, A.T. Mullis, Quint Mullis, and Edwin Upshaw. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
