Tommy Lee Cumbee, age 66, of Dublin went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 9, 2020. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Rev. David Wilkes, Rev. Nolon McDaniel and Rev. Kevin Tanner will officiate.
Mr. Cumbee was born November 24, 1953 in Swainsboro, Ga. He was a member of the Masonic Red Hill Lodge #533, and a faithful member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school several years. Mr. Cumbee was a manager with Dublin Plastics and worked in maintenance at Wheeler County Hospital. He loved his country and served proudly in the Army, graduating from Ft. Jackson, SC, where he received a marksman's metal. He served with the military police in Ft. Campbell, KY and was a military investigator with drug dogs at Ft. Gordon, GA.
Tommy loved being a husband, dad and papa. He loved to hold and spoil his grandchildren and showered them with love from birth to his death. Tommy was loving, kindhearted and very patient. Tommy loved the Lord and his church and was always ready to serve when he was able. He was very loved by many and will be missed very much.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Odell Cumbee, brothers Jimmy Dean Cumbee and Jeffrey Keith Cumbee.
Mr. Cumbee is survived by his wife of 38 years Cathie Cumbee of Dublin, his sons Adam Cumbee of Twin City, Clay Crumpton of Dublin, and Chris Cumbee of Twin City, a daughter Lori (Dan) Snipes of Statesboro, a sister Lisa (Travis) Hadden of Adrian, and grandchildren Caroline and Carter Snipes of Statesboro, Domanic and Colin Crumpton of Dublin, and Aaden and Raylon Cumbee of Twin City.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 1:45 P.M. Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Tommy's memory to the Dublin-Laurens County Humane Society, 618 Firetower Rd, Dublin, GA 31021.
