Funeral services for Mr. Tommy Elbert Lindsey, age 74 will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, March 11, 2016 at Lovett United Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Barbara Nelson and Rev. Kelly Maddox will officiate.
Mr. Lindsey was born on January 1, 1942 in the New Home Community. He was the son of the late Harville Lee and Ruth Harrell Lindsey. He was a member of Lovett United Methodist Church. He attended grammar school in Johnson County, and graduated from Sandersville High School. He continued his education in Augusta, where he received his Stationary License in Engineering. He was a retired engineer for the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, and he worked diligently helping to bring the Vietnam Wall to our community. He was a member of the American Legion Post #44 in Wrightsville, and a H.O.D.A.R. of the John Lawrence Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mr. Lindsey passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Fairview Park Hospital.
Mr. Lindsey is survived by his wife, Connie Kight Lindsey of Dublin, a daughter, Alia Lindsey (David) Valente of Arlington, VA, a brother-in-law, Leo (Emily) Kight of Lovett, a sister-in-law, Loette Kight (Ben) Mercer of Dexter, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Jeffers, Barber Wilson, Lamar Mercer, Jeff Hall, Tom Kight, and Kevin Tanner.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 919 Earl Kight Road, East Dublin, Georgia 31027.
