Valdina Smith

Funeral services for Valdina Smith, age 73 will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 25, 2023, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Curt McCullough and Mr. Kenneth Oliver will officiate.

Ms. Smith was born October 18, 1949, in Dublin, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late John Horace and Capitola Fields Smith. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, M.K. Smith, Duncan Smith, and Dolores Elliott, and her grandson, Jordan Graham. She was a retired hospice nurse for 30 years. She began her career at Claxton Hospital and ended her career with Advantage Hospice of Wrightsville.  Ms. Smith passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Navicent Health of Macon.

Ms. Smith is survived by her 3 daughters, Rachel Thomas (Dan) Cook of East Dublin, Jennifer "Jenny" Thomas of Swainsboro, and Sheila Thomas Overstreet of East Dublin, 2 sisters, Judy Stewart of Dublin, and Margo Gregory of Dublin, 6 grandchildren, Matthew (Tristin) Oliver, Adrianne Oliver, Landon McCoy, Keaton Seymour, Kylan Evans, and Lane Overstreet, and 6 great-grandchildren, Maddie Rudd, Camryn Rudd, Trey Oliver, Trevor Oliver, Hallie Oliver, and Charlee Kate McCoy.

The family will receive friends at her residence at 720 Aaron Road, East Dublin, GA 31027 . The family will also recieve friends from  5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the funeral home.
