Virgil Thomas "V.T." Ivey

Graveside funeral services for Virgil Thomas "V.T." Ivey, age 90, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene Cemetery with Mr. Thurmon Foskey officiating.

Mr. Ivey was born on January 21, 1936, in Scott, Georgia and was a member of Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene. He was a retired truck driver with Hatcher Trucking. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Ruby Smith Ivey; his wife, Retha Mae Geddings Ivey; a daughter, Angela Tanner; and son, Kenneth Johnson. Mr. Ivey passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at his residence.

He is survived by his great granddaughter and caregiver, Courtney Rowland (Clint); daughters, Gayle Caudle (Bud) of Dalton, Kathy Thacker (Lincoln) of Dalton, Paula Bridges (Ronnie) of Sugar Valley, and Dianne Cross of Rocky Face; sons, Ricky Lloyd (Suzzane) of Guntersville, AL and Harry Geddings (Lang) of Dalton; sisters, Ruth Foskey (Phil) of Adrian and Joyce Lumley of Adrian; brother, Johnny Ivey of Macon; his great-great grandchildren, Bryton, Brynlee and Bryer and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
