Mrs. Virginia Copeland Frady Josey, age 81, entered into rest peacefully on February 11, 2026.

Mrs. Josey was born July 13, 1944, to the late Eillies Sheppard Copeland and Earnest Copeland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, A.J. Frady; her brother, Jimmy Copeland; and her grandparents, Freeman and Missy Dixon Sheppard and Idoma Claxton Copeland Merritt and Isma Copeland.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Mr. Henry Claxton Josey of Harrison; her loving daughter, Linda Mae Loeffelad of Glenwood; her cherished granddaughter, Amy Mae Dalton; her stepson, Derek Dalton of Kite; her sister, Elaine Thaxton (Jay) of Sandersville; her brothers, Dale Copeland (Cindy) of Sandersville, Ronnie Copeland (Lynn) of Kite, and Henry Copeland of Wrightsville; along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss her dearly.

Mrs. Josey was a gifted seamstress who owned and operated her own clothing line and alterations shop for many years. She also worked in factories in Wrightsville and sewed from her home, blessing many with her talent and careful handiwork. She took pride in her work and in serving her community.

She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies Club and enjoyed fellowship and lunches with dear friends. Mrs. Josey loved baking for her family, caring for her dogs and cats, and spending time at home. She shared a loving and faithful marriage with her husband, Henry Claxton, and was especially devoted to her granddaughter, whom she loved beyond measure.

Mrs. Josey also served as a library manager and devoted herself to family history research, preserving stories for generations to come.
