Vivian Jeanette Hancock, age 91, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at her residence. She was born on December 7, 1927 in Abbeville, GA to the late William Newman and Alma Heath Newman. She moved to Dublin 34 years ago from Virginia Beach, VA. She was a Registered Nurse for 64 years. She retired with the Dublin V. A. Hospital and ender her career with Shamrock Nursing Home at the age of 84. She was married 53 years to the late Ira Dean Hancock, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Jane Ann) Hancock and her daughters, Bettina Hancock, Mary Ann (David) Forster, Leigh Hancock, Michelle Hancock and Kerry Rickerson all of Dublin. Her brother Randall Newman of Collins and her sister, Myrtle Conley of Rhine. Her grandchildren, Christopher (Desiree) Forster, Timothy (Jessica and Toby) Forster, Randy (Kathy) Bunton, Andrew Bunton, Hunter Rhodes, Heath Rhodes, Kacey Rickerson and Korie Rickerson. Her two great granddaughters, Helaina Forster and Jasmine Forster She is also survived by extended family Kristen Campbell, Gunner Helton, McKynlee Helton, Elizabeth Hession and numerous others to whom she was Meme. She is also survived by her dog Polly and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Ms. Hancock will be on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel. Mr. Sid Harrison will officiate. Private family service of interment to follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Kacey Rickerson and Gunner Helton.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at the funeral home.
