Vivian Veal Skipper

Funeral services for Vivian Veal Renfroe Skipper, 99, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2023, in the Richard N. Stanley, Jr. Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wayne Veal, Mr. Bobby Joiner and Dr. John Connell officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.

Ms. Skipper was born on April 7, 1923, in Johnson County, Georgia to her parents, Cosby L. Veal Sr. and Gracie Waller Veal. She was a graduate of Wrightsville High School and worked at Wrightsville Apparel Craft. She later worked and retired from Standard (formerly Stuckey) Candy Company and was a supervisor over the assembly line. She was an active member of Piney Mount Methodist Church when living in Wrightsville, Liberty Baptist Church in Eastman, and after moving to Florida was a member of Countryside Baptist Church in Clearwater, Florida. She enjoyed sewing and volunteer work at hospice and the Dodge County Hospital. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Renfroe, infant daughter, Brenda Kaye, siblings, Myra Claxton, Annie Laura Joiner, Lenora (Skeeter) Joiner, Cosby (Boker) L. Veal, Jr., Lila Veal Roberts, and Nell Hogan, and her second husband, Maloy Skipper. Vivian passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Bon Secours Maria Manor Nursing Home in St. Petersburg, Florida.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynda F. McKim (Glenn) of Tampa, Florida; her siblings, Mary Lyles, Delma Veal, and Chester Veal (Suzanne); grandson, Jeff Reynolds (Erin); and two great grandchildren, Millen and Pierce.

The family will be receiving guests at the home of Chester Veal and also at the visitation on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to a hospice of your choice.
