Wayne Ivey

Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Downs Ivey, age 69, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at New Home Baptist Church with burial to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Phil Wilson and Rev. Michael Bailey will officiate. Mr. Ivey was born April 1, 1949 in Wrightsville, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, J. Herman Ivey and Frances Elizabeth Downs Ivey. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church and was retired as owner/operator of Ivey Electric. Mr. Ivey passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 following an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Powell Ivey of Wrightsville, two daughters, Heather (Brandon) McEachern of Athens and Lindsay (Kasey) Carter of Wrightsville, two granddaughters, Elizabeth Carter and Emery Carter both of Wrightsville, two sisters, Herma Jean (Frank) Gribble of Wrightsville and Fran (Tim) Lemmen of Georgetown, KY and a brother, Reid (Cathy) Ivey of Wrightsville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Cal Brantley, Troy Hall, Brian Ivey, Matthew Lee, Kirk Lemmen, Brad Mosher, Michael Mosher and Justin Ragan. In lieu of flowers, contributions, in memory of Wayne, may be made to the Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief Fund, c/o Kay Harrison, 503 Fortner Road, Kite Georgia 31049 or to the charity of your choice.
