W.H. Smith

Funeral services for Mr. W.H. Smith, age 84, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Wrightsville Church of the Nazarene with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Mr. Thurmon Foskey, Rev. T. Manuel Johnson and Rev. Tim Tharpe will officiate. Mr. Smith was born September 12, 1931 in Johnson County; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late William Hinton & Mae Stewart Smith, a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Smith Miller and Wayne R. Miller, three brothers, Willis Smith, Remus Smith and Lester Smith and a sister, Lillie Mae Smith Webb. He was a faithful member of the Wrightsville Church of the Nazarene and retired from Forstman & Company after 47 years. Mr. Smith passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 following an extended illness. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nadine Foskey Smith, a daughter, Shirley S. (Jerry) Sumner, two granddaughters, Brandi Sumner (Ron) Blaxton and Courtney Sumner (Kent) Foskey and three grandchildren, Joshua Jordan Mixon, Gracie Ann Foskey and Weston Lott Foskey all of Wrightsville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, January 25, 2016 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Billy Mixon, Bobby McAfee, Eugene Kyzer, Edwin Knight, Jeff Foskey and Kenneth Foskey. Honorary Escort will include the Adult Sunday School class from Wrightsville Church of the Nazarene. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
