William Michael (Mike) Lynn passed away on February 3, 2024, following a brief illness. He was born January 19, 1955. His parents were Neil William Lynn and Maxie Mae Smith Lynn of Dublin. Mike is survived by his brothers Mark Anthony Lynn (Colleen) of Warner Robins, and John Bruce Lynn of Dublin; nephew, John Bruce Lynn, Jr., of Atlanta; nieces Amber Lynn of Dublin, Wendy Lynn of Brunswick, several great nephews and nieces, and special friend, Maggie. He was predeceased by his parents and his niece, Candi Sue Lynn of Dublin.
Mike was a 1973 graduate of Dublin High School. He early enlisted in the United States Air Force (USAF) while in high school. Following his graduation, he began his military service on April 30, 1974, with basic training at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB) and was stationed among other bases, at Patrick AFB, Tyndal AFB, Charleston AFB and Nellis AFB Las Vegas NV.
Mike was an Outstanding Aircraft Electrician/Avionics technician; he graduated numerous Technical & Leadership schools including the United States Air Force Senior NCO Leadership Academy. Mike was Hand Selected to serve in the 4477th Test & Evaluation Squadron. Known as the RED EAGLES by the United States Air Force. A Top-Secret Program at the time.
He attained the rank of Master Sergeant and retired from active duty on April 30, 1998. While in the service, Mike made many friends who remained lifelong friends. Mike was a thoughtful, generous, and caring person, especially with his family. Once a friend, you were always his friend.
Following his retirement from military service, Mike was employed at Robins AFB for approximately ten years where he served on the F-15 Project.
His hobby was his dogs, with his favorite being Buck.
At Mike's request, there will be no visitation or service. Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of arrangements.
