Graveside memorial services for William Edwin "Munchy" Roberts, 90, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 17, 2022, in Westview Cemetery with Mr. Chris Harvey officiating.
Mr. Roberts, affectionately known as "Munchy", was born on May 26, 1932, in Wrightsville, Georgia to the late Charlie Albert "C.A." Roberts and Lillian Hutchinson Sumner and was a member of Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He started Sinclair Service Station in Wrightsville before joining the Millwright 144 in Macon, Georgia where he worked as a General Foreman. He then started Roberts Used Car Lot and Wrecker Service that he operated until he was 83 years of age. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Lee Greene Roberts and grandson, C.J. Garrett. Munchy passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Fairview Park Hospital.
He is survived by his two sons, Bruce Roberts (Beverly) and Keith Roberts (Cheryl) both of Wrightsville, Donna (James) Byrd of Shellman Bluff, grandchildren, Monica Roberts, Camron Drew, Magen Douglas, Kale Roberts, Lance Roberts, and Harley Roberts, and great grandchildren, River Walker, Kara Drew, Kynlee Drew, Cadah Drew, Cooper Douglas, Maverick Douglas, Wyatt Roberts, and Sammy Roberts.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until 1:00 P.M on Saturday at the cemetery.
Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
