Funeral services for Mr. William Dallas "Billy" Price, age 70, of Johnson County, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Richard N. Stanley Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Donnie Daniels will officiate.
Mr. Price was born November 9, 1946 in Johnson County to the late, Elzie Leaston Price, Sr. and Essie Lee Ivey Price. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Wenfred Price, Elzie Leaston (Nannelle) Price, Jr., Ralston Price and Gerald (Gladys)Price and a sister, Dixie Hawkins. He worked for Buckeye Industries for 27 years as a mechanic and for Howard Sheppard as a truck driver for eight years before his retirement.
He served two years in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era, during which time he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Marksman Shooters Badge. He passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at his home following an extended illness.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jeanne Price of Wrightsville, a son, Todd Price and his wife, Ginny Ivey Price of Kite, two granddaughters, Ivey Price and Kinsley Price, three brothers, Wendell (Nadine) Price of Southside, AL Robert (Edna) Price of Sparta and Trueitt (Dorothy) Price of Wrightsville, a sister, Jimmie (Lamar) Price of Wrightsville, two sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Price of Tennille and Lyndial Price of Wrightsville and a brother-in-law, Louie (Diane) Hawkins of Greenville, SC.
His nephews, Ron Frazier, Bruce Price, Randy Price, Reggie Price, Marty Price, Scott Price, Mitch Price, Matt Price and Paul Price will serve as pallbearers.
