William "Ron" Ronald Smith

Funeral services for William "Ron" Ronald Smith, age 70 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the First Christian Church. Rev. Billy Glosson will officiate. Mr. Smith was born on August 10, 1946 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the son of the late Henry Hamp and Wilma Campbell Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janie Mason McKinzie Smith, his son, Kris Smith. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School in Greenwood, SC. He was a member of the First Christian Church. He served in the United States Navy. He was retired from Southeast Paper Manufacturing Company. Mr. Smith passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. Mr. Smith is survived by his 5 children, Miki Smith of Theodore, AL, Shannon Walker of East Dublin, Vickie (Clay) Dixon of Cedar Grove, Denise (Kurt) Hammel of Wolcott, VT, and Teresa (Twig) Farquharson of Hide Park, FL, 2 grandchildren, Morgan Paige McKenzie, and Jonathan Pete Walker, and 2 great grandchildren, Jaden Lee McKenzie, and Brainlyn Oakland Parker. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Smith to the First Christian Church at P.O. Box 1002, Dublin, GA 31040. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel have charge of funeral arrangements.
