William Zenus Thomas

Funeral services for William Zenus Thomas, age 85 will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 16, 2025, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Mr. Dennis Waldrep will officiate.

Mr. Thomas was born August 27, 1939, in Alamo, Georgia. He was the son of the late Jim Zenus Thomas and Annie Catherine Lake Thomas. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Veal Thomas; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Stinson; and a sister-in-law, Susan Edwards Thomas. He was the owner/operator of Thomas Machine Shop. He was a charter member of the First Independent Methodist Church. He became a member of Gideons International on July 26, 1966. He was also a member of the Laurens County Development Authority and was an active member of the Dublin Chapter of Gideons # 10090. Mr. Thomas passed away, Friday, February 14, 2025, at his residence.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his 3 daughters, Cathy Thomas Scott (Ricky) of Watkinsville, Renea Thomas Woodard (Danny) of Milledgeville, and Beth Thomas Brown (Paul) of Dublin; a brother, Lewis Thomas of East Dublin; a brother-in-law, Perry Veal of Milledgeville; 2 sisters, Celia Thomas Vines (Claude) of Dublin, and Delores Thomas Stinson of East Dublin, 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Woodard, Brandon Woodard, Chase Brown, Thomas Brown, Brad Baker, Kris Fordham, John Rauschenberg, and Torrey Payne.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Nephews and Gideon's International.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Thomas to Gideons International at P.O. Box 27, Dublin, GA 31040-0027.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the funeral home.
