Graveside services for our Daddy, Willie (Ed) Morgan, age 91, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Wilkes Church of the Nazarene. Rev. David Canen and Rev. Al Soles will officiate.
Mr. Morgan was born on October 5, 1923 in Laurens County, Georgia. He was the son of the late S.H. and Victoria Grainger Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Annie Brown Morgan, 5 brothers, Frank Morgan, Roy Morgan, Grady Morgan, Emory Morgan, and Sid Morgan, and a sister, Dorothy Sapp. He was a member of Wilkes Church of the Nazarene where he taught Sunday school for many years. He served in the United States Army where he fought during WWII. He was retired from Curry Realtors. Mr. Morgan passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Fairview Park Hospital.
Mr. Morgan is survived by his 2 sons, Larry (Brenda) Morgan of East Dublin, and Eddie (Beverly) Morgan of Dublin, 4 daughters, Gail (Royce) Phillips of East Dublin, Pat (Richard) Andrews of Dublin, Janice (Donald) Warnock of East Dublin, and Teresa (Al) Soles of East Dublin, a sister-in-law, Ann Shuman of TX, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 8 great- great grandchildren and a special caregiver Gail McClinton.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Morgan to the Wounded Warrior Project at 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300 in Jacksonville, FL at 32256.
Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel have charge of funeral arrangements.
