Wilma Hobbs Slade

Funeral services for Wilma Hobbs Slade, age 81 will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2023, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Hank Melton will officiate.

Mrs. Slade was born June 21, 1941, in Lumber City, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Frank Hobbs and Corine Wood Horne. She was also preceded in death by her stepdad, Austin Horne, and a brother, Keith Hobbs. She retired from Byrne's Furniture Company. She was a member of Buckeye Christian Church. She enjoyed playing cards with all her friends. Mrs. Slade passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, at her residence.

Mrs. Slade is survived by her 2 sons, Richard (Wendy) Slade of Dublin, and Allen (Jessica) Slade of Dublin, and 3 grandchildren, Kaylee Slade, Richi Slade, and Gavin Slade.

Pallbearers will be Lee Shiver, Joey Chambers, Wayne Chamness, Jeff Graham, Randy Passmore, and Chris Rutledge.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2023, at the funeral home. Friends and family are also invited to come to the residence of Richard and Wendy Slade at 851 Old Toomsboro Road, Dublin, GA 31021 following the funeral service for a celebration of life reception.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Slade to the Buckey Christian Church.
