Winston M. Meeks, 83, of Dublin, passed away at Serenity House on Saturday, June 26, 2021 after an extended illness.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel, Dublin, GA with Rev. Jack and Wanda Sapp officiating.
Winston was born in Johnson County on September 15, 1937. He grew up in Lyons, GA and surrounding areas. He served ten years in the Georgia National Guard achieving several Marksman metals. He moved back to Johnson County in 1957. He was owner and operator of Winston's Auto Service before moving to Dublin in 1995. He was owner and operator of Meeks Used Cars until he retired. He worked several years with Don's Enterprises as a Canopy and Awning Salesman.
Being a man of great Faith, his love for our Lord was evident in his willingness to help others when there was a need. He was a man of many talents, a problem solver. He handled life's problems with wisdom and calmness, never showing frustration. He had a unique sense of humor and was a joy to be around, even though, he was a quiet man of few words. His family was so dear to him, always being there for them when they needed him, always putting others feelings ahead of his own. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Winston was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer and Erma Meeks; Son, Gary W. Meeks; Brothers, Glynn Meeks and Jackie Meeks; Sister, JoAnn Caldwell.
He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, of 62 years; Son, Gregory Meeks (Dina); Grandchildren, Kristina Milks (Hunter), Brandon Meeks, all of Dublin, Michelle Alexander of Atlanta.
Visitation will immediately follow the service.
