Zelma Smith

Funeral services for Zelma F. Smith, age 84, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Joe Bedgood and Rev. Lamar Kersey will officiate.

Mrs. Smith was born on November 16, 1941, in Kite, Georgia and was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ozie Flanders and Elsie Stapleton Flanders; her husband, Carlos Smith; siblings, Otis Curtis Flanders, John Robert Flanders, S. J. Flanders, and Mary Lee Coursey; her in-laws, Jim and Velma Smith and a sister-in-law, Hazel Thompson. Mrs. Smith passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Scott Health and Rehab.

She is survived by her son, Jim Smith; sisters, Carolyn Kersey, Nell Flanders, June Johnson and Joyce Lamb; sister-in-law, Mildred Knight; brothers, Bert Flanders and O.L. Flanders; brother-in-law, Billy Thompson; grandchildren, Carla and T.J. Page and Dallas and Caitlin Smith; and great grandchildren, Camden Page, Casen Page, Callie Smith and Kallex Smith.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Kersey, Marcus Simmons, Donnie Robertson, Hunter Moore, Charles Garnto and Ben Garnto.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The family will be meeting at the residence of Dallas and Caitlin Smith at 446 Highway 80 East, Adrian, Georgia 31002.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Williams Chapel Baptist Church, 77 K and K Road, Kite, GA 31049 or to Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene, 591 Mt. Olive Church Road, Wrightsville, GA 31096.
